We need a team of two to four students who wants to represent the Department of Earth Sciences at this years River Rafting event on Valborg, April 30!
Update: this year we received no less than seven really good applications to this competition. Unfortunately, there can be only one winner. Welcome to the Fyris river rafting on April 30, where you can see the Geo-raft illustrating the hydrological cycle!
Send us a short presentation of your concept regarding the raft you want to build, and your outfits. Deadline: April 7.

All costs are covered by the department

Present your raft on an A4 page, including the following:

Participants (names and mail adresses)

Theme/concept

A description of the raft

A description of your outfits
-
A short text that should be read aloud by the announcers at the rafting event

You enter the competition by sending the required documents in an e-mail with the heading "forsränningen 2016" to borje.dahren@geo.uu.se. The winner will be selected by a jury, and presented here on April 10.

In April 2017, 17 scientists from five research institutions across three continents came together for a workshop about Ocean Island volcanism on Gran Canaria, Canary Islands. The workshop was facilitated by financial support from the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT; collaboration grant between Dr. F.M. Deegan at Uppsala University, Sweden and Prof. C. Harris at the University of Cape Town, South Africa).
