Large-Scale Atmospheric Variability driving changes in the Terrestrial Carbon Cycle and Storage (2019-2021)

This project seeks to better understand the link between large-scale atmospheric dynamics and the terrestrial carbon cycle variability. The focus is on how long-term changes in intra-seasonal atmospheric variability can drive long-term changes in terrestrial carbon fluxes and storage at regional scales. We hope that our results will advance our ability to forecast how the carbon sink strength and storage in Europe will vary under climate change. The project is carried out in collaboration with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Stockholm University.
